The Reality of Agentic Coding: How We Are Turning Everyone Into a Builder

The Hype Versus The Reality
The reality of agentic coding is completely different from what AI influencers are shouting about online. People tend to overexaggerate the current state of fully agentic coding. There are major issues, and building real, complex systems this way requires navigating uncharted territory.
But despite the hurdles, there has never been a better time to go all in. For a while now, I have been working toward transforming my team with one core idea: "everyone must build." With the rise of coding agents, this vision has finally become our new reality.
The "Everyone Must Build" Philosophy
Under this new regime, my team is transforming into a pure team of builders. When I say everyone, I mean literally everyone.
Product Managers, Quality Engineers, and even our legal experts are on the verge of shipping code. All of our developers are transitioning to full stack. Everyone builds, and everyone ships features.
π Operating at the intersection of international law and AI means having domain experts directly involved in building the system is a massive advantage. We are removing the traditional silos between those who design the product, those who understand the law, and those who write the code.
Embracing AI Coding Tools in 2026
I am a power user of Cursor, and in my 14 years in the industry, I have never loved coding as much as I do right now. π»β‘
Thanks to my incredibly open-minded team, we have taken it as a challenge to make this radical workflow a reality. We are committed to scaling our team this way throughout 2026. We are deep into the reality of what it takes to build real systems this way, moving past the theoretical and right into production.
What to Expect: A Practical Guide to Agentic Coding
Over the coming days, I am going to share the actual, practical experiences my team and I have gone through to embrace this shift. I want to cut through the noise and share what actually works.
I will be covering: π
π οΈ The Cross-Functional Shift: How we are actually getting PMs, QAs, and legal experts to ship production code.
π Production Reality: What really happens when you want to ship production-ready code with agents.
π‘οΈ Navigating Pushback: How to deal with engineers who are not open-minded and think they code better than the agents.
π§ System Configuration: How to configure your agents to out-code five people on your team.
β‘ Unlocking Velocity: How we managed to ship updates in just a few days that previously would have taken months of work.
π§ The Pitfalls: Exactly what to avoid and what you absolutely must tackle head-on.
The Hard Truth About AI and Developer Skills
Here is the hardest truth about AI coding. It will not replace the need for skill.
If anything, the bar is getting higher. Only the top developers will be able to make the absolute best out of these systems. The need to be an excellent, systems-thinking developer is higher than ever. Those who understand the architecture, the tradeoffs, and the loss landscapes will thrive, while average to mediocre developers will simply fade away.
Stay tuned for the first update. π
